Vehicle is being offered with free delivery. For details and conditions, see the terms of the offer at the end of the listing. And it’s best to view the listing on a desktop or laptop computer. A smartphone won’t give you the same details.
This Versa has had over $5,800 worth of parts and service including a brand new Nissan transmission and a new set of tires, details of which are mentioned further in the description.
This auction is for a low mileage fully equipped 2013 Nissan Versa SV sedan finished in Metallic Blue (aka Electric Blue), with a Sandstone beige interior. When comparing this Versa to the others listed, keep in mind this is the more expensive and better equipped SV model. Some of the others here are the base S models which don’t have power windows or door locks, don’t have remote keyless entry, don’t have power mirrors, don’t have chrome door handles and grille surrounds, have a plain instrument cluster without tachometer, have a lower grade of interior fabric and may not come with cruise control. Add to that are the numerous options on this car that most other Versa’s here don’t have such as the touch-screen sound system with navigation and satellite radio, back up camera, fog lights, spoiler, etc. 2013 is the second year of the new Versa sedan bodystyle and looks nearly identical to the models up to 2019. It’s powered by Nissan’s second-generation 1.6-liter HR16DE engine, a 16-valve DOHC powerplant that has received excellent reviews by engineers and the automotive press for its strong power output, great economy and inherent smoothness. It features an all aluminum alloy engine block and cylinder head for light weight and excellent heat dissipation, Continuously Variable Timing Control (CVTC) on both intake and exhaust cams similar to the system used on the Maxima for maximum power output at all engine speeds, a dual fuel injector system that allows a wider injection of fuel with two smaller nozzles delivering a finer spray for excellent gas mileage, distributorless coil on plug (COP) ignition for reliability in all environmental conditions, and drive by wire electronic throttle for precise control of drivability parameters. These and numerous other cutting-edge technologies make it one of the most advanced powerplants in the entry-level class of automobiles. In 2012, the Nissan Versa was the first vehicle in North America to wear the PUREDRIVE® badge. PUREDRIVE® is a global concept and designation demonstrating Nissan’s commitment to creating eco-friendly, improved MPG and lower CO2 emission vehicles.
The engine is mated to a redesigned Xtronic CVT™ (Continuously Variable Transmission) that eliminates conventional shifts to provide silky smooth seamless acceleration that no other transmission, either manual or conventional automatic, can match, without any of the power loss of a conventional automatic and nearly identical fuel economy as a manual transmission model. It provides a stepless and seamless flow of power continuously from idle to redline. Instead of having individual gears, the CVT allows continuous change of the transmission gear ratio by connecting two pulleys with a metallic belt and changing their diameter by using hydraulic pressure. The CVT also features a transmission ratio of 7.3:1, which is broader than those of conventional CVTs and even typical 7-speed automatic transmissions. This CVT design adds an auxiliary gearbox using planetary gearing, helping improve efficiency. Also, internal friction is reduced by 30 percent, weight by 13 percent and overall size by 10 percent versus the previous Versa sedan CVT design. The CVT has a low starting “gear” ratio that provides brisk acceleration from a stop, while a high top “gear” ratio allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent fuel economy figures of over 40 mpg in real world driving. In other words, this CVT has a lower “first gear” and a much higher “top gear” than conventional transmissions, which gives it such enhanced acceleration when starting off, and great gas mileage when cruising. At 60 mph, the engine is only turning at 1,800 rpm which is quite low for such a small displacement engine.
Rounding out the Versa is a suspension made to smooth out your daily commute while still having fun on twisting roads. Start off with a light curb weight of 2,400 pounds and add a MacPherson strut independent front suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars and low rolling resistance P185/65R15 all-season tires. Include speed sensitive rack and pinion Electric Power Steering (EPS) for precise road feel, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) for sure stopping and a stiffer chassis design than many other small vehicles, and you have a car that is quicker, faster and handles better than most others in it’s class.
Not only is the Versa fun to drive, it’s also economical to maintain.
